Fellowship Community

Volunteers

Without “VOLUNTEERS”, the community could not function as it does. Volunteers help in nearly all sectors of the work. More than 25,000 hours a year are contributed by 50 to 60 volunteers. Most take a real joy in their services, and cherish the experiences gained in such a community setting. Many friendships are made with older individuals, middle-aged co-workers, and children as well. This is the case when so often in social life there is a growing annonimity and a real trend toward isolation for many an older person, especially for those who are “retired”. For those active, as well as retired, the volunteering done for the community is rewarding, as can be seen by the many faithful ones, who over the years, become permanent members of the community. One can say that more than one volunteer has “worked” his way into the community. For this reason, there is a growing community that not only lives within the confines of the Fellowship, but extends well beyond, until a move into the community takes place. One of the current older members was a volunteer for 20 years and for the last 10 years has been living inside the community.
